The University of Colorado Denver Neurosurgery Department specializes in providing options and answers. The department’s strength lies in its faculty and its multidisciplinary programs of excellence practicing at four affiliated hospitals: University of Colorado Hospital, The Children’s Hospital, Veteran’s Administration Medical Center, and Denver Health Medical Center.
Our programs include neuro-oncology, spine, neurovascular disease, neuro-trauma and neuro-critical care, peripheral nerve surgery, pediatric neurosurgery and the newest program, functional and restorative neurosurgery including surgical treatment of epilepsy, neuro-transplantation. The surgeons in our department performed over 2,140 operative cases last year and conducted approximately 7,500 outpatient visits or consults.
In addition to clinical excellence, we are known for our teaching program. We were recently granted permission by the Residency Review Committee to increase our complement of residents to graduating two residents per year, doubling the size of our program granting increased educational opportunities at our four affiliate hospitals.
